Savannah Embraces Technology

Savannah Tap unveiled it’s interactive city guides last week. I crowded around at the Savannah Visitor’s Center and test drove Tap and found it to be a very user-friendly addition to the stacks of brochures and maps. Within seconds I was able to find restaurants, shopping, and city services mapped out and texted to my phone. I love this new wave of advancement Savannah seems to be taking on.
Another interesting development come from Live Oak Public Libraries, spanning Downtown to Tybee, which has gone completely electronic. From any computer I can find a book, place a hold, select pickup location, and receive an email when it is ready for pickup. Also the library emails a reminder a few days before they are due back. Really a fantastic service!
The Savannah Morning News has laid out their answer to decline on paper sales. Go digital! Every morning as a Savannah News subscriber the paper is electronically delivered to me via email. The paper is laid out exactly as the physical edition. I flip through, enhance the images when needed and save my favorite Vox Popoli.
Automation, ease of use, and shear convenience describe these wonderful tools. Keep it up Savannah!
