Lauren Tomhave moved from Western Pennsylvania to Savannah’s Historic Landmark District seven years ago. Lauren knows architecture. She purchased, designed and renovated her current residence, a 4,000 square foot loft space, located in the former Derst Baking Company building, circa 1890. Her home has been featured in many publications, as well as the Historic Savannah Foundation Tour of Homes, the Downtown Neighborhood Association Holiday Tour of Homes and the St. Vincent Tour of Homes.
Lauren loves the diversity of architectural styles found in Savannah, from the Landmark District to the Islands and she specializes in all areas of Savannah real estate.
She comes from a background in art and design, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fashion Merchandising, with a minor in Interior Design. She owned her own art business and worked in retail management for a number of years, before moving to Savannah. Lauren currently serves on the Education committee of the Historic Savannah Foundation and is working to develop an accredited curriculum for the Savannah Board of Realtors, to teach the fundamentals of Historic Preservation to real estate agents.
Lauren is a member of the Telfair Museum of Art, the Melcher Society of the Telfair Museum of Art, the Corinthian Society of the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Downtown Neighborhood Association and is an active supporter of the Savannah Music Festival. She also serves as President of the Oglethorpe Row Condominium Association.
Lauren and her husband, a retired physician, are avid collectors of art and share a very serious interest in wine.
