Amenities Flow for Bryan County and Richmond Hill Real Estate Owners

Bryan County, Georgia, lies south of downtown Savannah, an easy twenty-minute drive along I-95. The northern point of the Bryan County border is about ten minutes from Savannah’s south side, where owners of Savannah and Bryan County real estate enjoy the many options of shopping and dining.

Bryan County, GA, was created by state legislature from Chatham County in 1793. Big changes began in 1925 when inventor and founder of the Ford Motor Company Henry Ford and wife Clara built their winter estate in the town called Ways Station, which would eventually become known as Richmond Hill. As Ford began providing real estate and homes for his employees, the need for schools and government buildings became apparent. Soon a city began to take shape and Ford became an icon of the community.

The 2006 Census estimated 29,648 people living in Bryan County, GA, where the average annual temperature is a mild 66 degrees. Bryan County real estate has substantial claim to fame, as the Civil War movie Glory starring Denzel Washington was filmed here. In July 2007, Bryan County, Georgia, earned a designation by the state of Georgia as an Entrepreneur Friendly county.

Annual Bryan County area events include the July 4 Annual Ol’ Time Family Festival and BBQ, the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival held in October and the Annual Hometown Christmas Parade.

There are many recreational options in Bryan County. Enjoy golf at the semi-private Waterford Landing course on the Jerico River or the private Pete Dye course at Ford Plantation. Stevens Wetlands Education Center.

More recreation is on the way, as the city of Richmond Hill is planning a 35,000 square foot Conference and Aquatic Center on property donated by the Ford Plantation. The center will feature a junior Olympic pool and pool house, showers, and children’s area. A golf and conference center with full catering and video conferencing capabilities is also proposed.

Currently, most of the dining in Bryan County is found in chain and independent restaurants focusing on family dining. Catholic, Baptist, Church of God, Presbyterian, Methodist, Church of Christ, Lutheran and Episcopal churches host Church services in the area.

Today Richmond Hill is home to some of the most prestigious addresses in the Coastal Region and Savannah real estate.
